Paleo Recipe: Coffee Marinated Flat Iron Steaks

Coffee Marinated Flat Iron Steaks

  1. 3/4 cup strongly brewed coffee
  2. 1/3 cup coconut aminos
  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 shallot, minced
  5. 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  6. 1 teaspoon salt
  7. 1 teaspoon black pepper
  8. 4 flat Iron steaks
  9. 4 eggs
  10. 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  1. 1. Brew the coffee, and allow it to chill in the refrigerator before adding it to the marinade.
  2. 2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the chilled coffee, coconut aminos, garlic, shallot, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Whisk to combine.
  3. 3. Rinse the steaks under cool water, pat them dry, and place them in a dish.
  4. 4. Pour the marinade over the steaks to evenly coat, and refrigerate them in the marinade for at least 4-6 hours, or up to 24 hours.
  5. 5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  6. 6. Grill the steaks 12-15 minutes, flipping once.
  7. 7. Remove the steaks from the grill, and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.
  8. 8. While the steaks are resting, fry the eggs in coconut oil.
  9. 9. Top each steak with its own egg, and serve.
